FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions:
General questions
What is UVA?
The sun emits not only visible light but also more energetic rays such as UV (ultraviolet) rays . There are different types of UV rays. While UVB rays are primarily responsible for sunburn and skin cancer, UVA rays mainly lead to premature skin aging and hyperpigmentation. 90% of the UV rays that reach us are UVA rays. Unlike UVB rays, their intensity varies less with regard to season , geographical location, and weather.
The stated sun protection factor (SPF) of a sunscreen primarily refers to UVB protection, which protects against sunburn and skin cancer. UVA rays, on the other hand, penetrate deeper into the skin and are mainly responsible for premature skin aging. In the EU, UVA protection is indicated by the UVA seal , and in Asia by PA++++ . However, these labels often only guarantee minimal UVA protection, amounting to about one-third of the stated SPF value.
Are your products suitable for vegans?
Yes! The UVA booster is 100% free of animal ingredients.
Are your products climate neutral?
No product can be manufactured in a completely climate-neutral way, as resources and energy are always required for production. Furthermore, determining the exact emissions of a product, including all its supply chains, is very complex and time-consuming. At SKINGINEERED, we therefore donate a flat 1% of our revenue to Atmosfair to support climate projects and advance the global energy transition. Every UVA Booster sold offsets over 15 kg of CO2.

UVA booster
Who is the UVA booster suitable for?
The UVA Booster is ideal for anyone who wants daily sun protection without the typical feel of sunscreen. It offers a luxurious texture that effectively protects against premature skin aging. Especially suitable for sensitive skin, as it is formulated without ethanol and fragrances. It has been tested on various skin tones, skin types, and age groups.
How do I use the UVA booster?
Apply the UVA booster daily in the morning as the last step in your skincare routine. Massage it well into your skin and allow it to absorb completely. In case of intense sun exposure, apply at least one full pump (0.8 ml) to your face.
Is the UVA booster a sunscreen?
The UVA booster is primarily a day cream, but meets the criteria of a sunscreen and offers a protection factor of 30. This is a high level of protection with a correct application amount of approx. 1 g for the face and is sufficient in everyday life.
In addition, it offers UVA protection that even exceeds UVB protection.
For summer vacations, we recommend sun protection with SPF 50+ for fair skin.
What is the exact level of UVA protection?
- The exact value of the tested SPF is 30.8 according to ISO 24444:2019.
- In vitro screening of the UVA PF achieves a value of 55 (comparable to most European sunscreen products).
- This means the UVA protection factor is 180% of the SPF.
- Tested in vivo PPD 38.8 according to gold standard ISO 24442:2022 (comparable to most Asian sunscreen products).
Do I use the UVA booster in addition to my normal cream?
That depends on your skin type. We recommend the following:
Normal to oily skin: The UVA booster can be used as a sole product in the morning.
Dry skin: We recommend applying a moisturizer before using the UVA booster.
Dehydrated skin: We recommend applying a moisturizing serum before the UVA booster.
Example routine: 1. Cleanser 2. Toner 3. Vitamin C serum 4. UVA booster
Is the UVA booster suitable during pregnancy?
There are no contraindications to using the ingredients during pregnancy. Protection is even more important during this phase, as the skin is more sensitive and prone to pigmentation.
Is the UVA booster suitable for pigment spots?
Yes, especially if you are prone to pigment spots, you should pay attention to high UVA protection.
Does the UVA booster leave white hazes?
No. The so-called Weissel effect is usually caused by particulate UV filters. The UVA booster only contains soluble, organic filters.
How do I know how full the UVA booster is?
The empty pump dispenser, including the lid, weighs approximately 33.5 g. If you wish, you can weigh it to see how much product is left.
If you use the UVA booster daily in the amount of sunscreen (approx. 1 g), it should be used up after 2 months.
Is the UVA booster waterproof?
Because the UVA booster is an everyday product, it wasn't specifically developed or tested for water resistance. Waterproof creams are often very greasy.
Even a waterproof sunscreen should be reapplied after swimming, as the test is already passed if at least 50% of the original protective effect is still present on the skin after two 20-minute swims and baths in the water.
