FAQ

General questions

What is UVA?

The sun does not only emit visible light. UV rays (ultraviolet), for example, are somewhat more energetic. There are different categories of these. While UVB rays are primarily responsible for sunburn and skin cancer, UVA rays are primarily responsible for premature skin aging and hyperpigmentation. 90% of the UV rays that reach us are UVA rays. Their intensity fluctuates less depending on the season, geographical location, weather, etc. than UVB rays.

Are your products suitable for vegans?

Yes! The UVA booster is 100% free of animal ingredients.

Are your products climate neutral?

Resources and energy must be spent on every product. No manufacturing process is climate neutral (unless perhaps you are a plant shop). What is possible is CO2 compensation, which is used to finance climate projects. It is very complex to determine the exact emissions of a product, including all supply chains. Therefore, SKINGINEERED donates 1% of its sales to Atmosfair as a climate contribution. This will be used to advance the global energy transition. This means that each UVA booster compensates for over 15 kg of CO2.

UVA booster

Who is the UVA booster suitable for?

For anyone who wants to wear SPF without feeling like they are wearing SPF. But an elegant day cream that effectively prevents premature skin aging. For sensitive skin that prefers formulations without ethanol and fragrances. Tested on every skin color, every skin type and every age group.

How do I use the UVA booster?

Apply to your face every morning as the last step before make-up. Massage well and allow to absorb.

If exposed to the sun, apply at least one full pump to the face. The stroke volume is 0.8 ml.

Is the UVA booster a sunscreen?

The UVA booster is primarily a day cream, but meets the criteria of a sunscreen and offers a protection factor of 30. This is a high level of protection with a correct application amount of approx. 1 g for the face and is sufficient in everyday life.

In addition, it offers UVA protection that even exceeds UVB protection.

For summer vacations, we recommend sun protection with SPF 50+ for fair skin.

Do I use the UVA booster in addition to my normal cream?

That depends on your skin type. We recommend the following:

Normal to oily skin: The UVA booster can be used as a sole product in the morning.

Dry skin: We recommend applying a moisturizer before using the UVA booster.

Dehydrated skin: We recommend applying a moisturizing serum before the UVA booster.

Example routine: 1. Cleanser 2. Toner 3. Vitamin C serum 4. UVA booster

Does the UVA booster leave white casts?

No. The so-called Weissel effect is usually caused by particulate UV filters. The UVA booster only contains soluble, organic filters.
